ALC Health bought by IMG

International medical insurer à la Carte Healthcare (ALC Health) has been bought by global benefits and assistance services provider International Medical Group (IMG) for an undisclosed fee.

ALC Health, which has clients in 140 countries, offers international medical insurance plans to individuals, families and groups worldwide.

IMG says there will be no job losses or operational changes as a result of the merger.

ALC Health describes itself as offering a personal approach international PMI. ALC Health was founded by CEO Sarah Jewell, herself a former expatriate and many of its employees are also former expatriates. Jewell received an MBE in the 2015 New Year’s Honours list for services to entrepreneurship in the medical insurance industry.

IMG president and CEO Todd A Hancock says: “ALC Health is a natural expansion fit as IMG continues to grow. This acquisition complements our growth strategy, strengthening IMG’s presence across key markets in Europe and Asia. It will be business as usual for employees, producers and clients.”
