Axa PPP launches mental health app

Axa PPP Healthcare has launched a mental wellbeing app for its 200+-employee corporate clients through an exclusive agreement with Thrive Therapeutic Software

The smartphone app will complement the suite of mental health awareness and early intervention services Axa PPP Healthcare already provides, including its Stronger Minds assessment and treatment referral service, employee assistance programme and Proactive Health Coaching service.

Thrive has been assessed by the NHS and offers individuals a range of insights and supports relaxation methods such as meditation, mindfulness and sleep improvement. It also delivers cognitive behavioural therapy through a structured programme that teaches basic skills for better understanding and ability to manage emotions, behaviour and thoughts – providing insight and an ability to make higher quality decisions to manage the challenges of everyday life. Users needing additional help are signposted to suitable support.

Axa PPP Healthcare chief executive Tracy Garrad says: “We know that mental health is still a big worry for business leaders. Nearly two thirds – 62 per cent – of the HR professionals the Reward and Employee Benefits Association polled for its latest Employee Wellbeing Research report said it’s their boards’ biggest concern.

“And, while it’s encouraging to see such a high level of awareness, many employers are still grappling with the complexities of identifying and supporting employees with mental health issues at an early stage and, arguably more importantly, preventing them from arising in the first place. We’re confident the addition of Thrive to our corporate offering will play a big part in helping employers to enhance the support they bring to their employees’ wellbeing.”

Thrive Therapeutic Software commercial director Simon Jay says: “Our evidence-based psychological techniques and interventions will enable members of its corporate healthcare schemes to manage their psychological wellbeing more effectively.”
