HSBC master trust names former Atlas head as COO

Paul McBride has been named as chief operating officer of HSBC Retirement Services Limited (HRSL), the entity that is developing the HSBC Master Trust.

McBride will be based in London and report to Alison Hatcher, CEO, HRSL. HRSL is part of HSBC Life, the group’s insurance business.

McBride has 30 years of experience and expertise in the UK pensions industry and joins from Capita where he spent five years as head of risk & governance for the Atlas Master Trust. Prior to this he was head of governance at Legal & General where he developed and implemented their master trust.

He will be responsible for the HSBC Master Trust’s day-to-day operations which will include leading the development and management of the digital provision including data management.

The HSBC Master Trust was authorised in 2019.
