Hymans Robertson appoints risk transfer team lead

Tom Caron, risk transfer operations lead at Hymans Robertson

Consultancy firm Hymans Robertson has named Tom Caron as operations lead for its risk transfer team.

The move marks an internal promotion for Caron. He will now be responsible for operational responsibility for the team, leading on resourcing, people development, knowledge sharing and regulatory compliance.

Alongside this, Caron will also be expected to continue to provide expert advice to trustees and sponsors on their own risk transfer projects.

Caron joined Hymans Robertson in July 2019 . Some of the buy-in transactions he has worked on while at the firm include the pension schemes for Next and Greggs, with the total value of transactions he has worked on amounting to £3.5bn.

“With both newer insurers and established providers expanding capacity, the opportunities for schemes of all sizes continues to grow,” says Caron.

Earlier this month, Hymans Robertson appointed Chris King as head of charities, endowments and foundations within its investment team
