Mattioli Woods buys healthcare adviser

Mattioli Woods is buying specialist healthcare and protection business Maclean Marshall Healthcare (MMH) for an undisclosed fee.

The deal sees MMH’s Sharon Marshall join Mattioli Woods. MMH has around 80 corporate clients. Principally in the Aberdeen area, who will now be dealt with under the Mattioli Woods brand.

The acquisition comes as interim results for the group show a 20 per cent increase in revenue to £19.9m and a 29.5 per cent increase in assets under administration to £6.49bn over the six months to December.

Mattioli Woods chief executive Ian Mattioli says: “Our strategy is to grow our employee benefits business organically and by acquisition, increasing market share and enhancing our reputation. Acquiring new clients that are complementary to our existing business is a key part of this strategy”.

Mattioli Woods employee benefits director Alan Fergusson says: “This addition to the group will add to our significant client bank in this location, providing new opportunities to advise on other services. Sharon’s expertise will add to the knowledge and experience within our healthcare team.”
