Punter Southall Aspire has bought a stake in specialist branding and communications agency, Future Kings with the aim of boosting employees’ engage with workplace saving.

The deal will see Future Kings’ design team work with Punter Southall Aspire consultants on helping employers generate maximum value for money from workplace savings spend, both for existing and new clients.

The Future Kings business was founded by Ben Mott and Steven Anderson and has offices in London and Bristol. Experts within the business include Jon Kerswell, formerly of Axa Wealth, who is head of copywriting and Lee Nicholls who leaves his position as head of employer brand at Legal & General to join the agency. Current clients include Bristol’s historic visitor attraction, the SS Great Britain, and global drinks manufacturer, Pernod Ricard.

Punter Southall Aspire says the deal is part of its plan to build a fully integrated workplace saving offering, and will be followed by a number of other initiatives over the coming months.

Punter Southall Aspire chief executive Steve Butler says: “Too often, workplace saving simply doesn’t engage people. It’s not helping to motivate or retain existing talent, nor is it attracting new people to join the company either. With more people saving than ever through auto-enrolment, this issue is even more critical. If employees opt out en masse, there is a risk that auto-enrolment will fail.

“The way workplace saving is communicated is central to this problem. Pension providers and consultants have tried for years to build communications programmes. Lack of outstanding creative and design expertise underpinning it is one reason why they have failed. That’s where the value of a business like Future Kings really comes into play.

“If employers continue to make a significant financial investment in workplace saving, they have to expect a genuine return on it. Most pension and savings schemes don’t achieve that currently. Good communications as part of the package can change that.”

Future Kings managing director and co-founder Ben Mott says: “Our core business is all about people and how they perform together as a team. We listen to your staff and your customers, using brand strategy, people engagement and customer experience to improve business performance.”
