TV and radio host supports L&G’s well-being initiative

Legal & General is collaborating with TV and radio host Roman Kemp on documentaries about his personal experiences with mental health and well-being.

The new Be Well, Get Better, Be Supported campaign intends to assist businesses in incorporating the preventative, early intervention, and vocational rehabilitation services offered by L&G’s group protection insurance products into their organisational wellness programmes. The films will focus on recognising signals that someone is suffering and have open talks about mental health, emphasising men’s well-being and bereavement management.

L&G says its mission is to provide intermediaries and the businesses they serve with the tools, resources, and experience they need to confidently discuss how protection services contribute to a broader well-being strategy and overall company goals.

Kemp says: My personal experiences have led me on a journey with one simple goal and that is to open up and change the conversations we all have about mental health, what can be done to encourage people to seek help, what preventative action we need to be taking, and understanding the lasting impact that mental health and suicide can have on those were closest to.

Its hugely important that well-being is addressed in all workplaces, big and small, and that employees feel they can be open and honest and have the tools and services available to support them. Well-being is about looking after yourself – but businesses also must play a part in supporting employees. Working with Legal & Generals Be Well, Get Better, Be Supported campaign, Im hoping to further raise awareness of how employers can play their part in supporting peoples well-being,”

L&G group protection claims and governance director Vanessa Sallows says: Our focus is on breaking down stigma around mental health as well as telling stories through lived experiences. We are delighted that Roman is partnering with us on our Be well, Get better, Be supportedcampaign, where we explore mental well-being as the foundation for our whole well-being.
