Warwick-Thompson and Day join Cushon trustee board

Cushon has appointed Independent Trustee Services client director Dianne Day and former executive director for regulatory policy at The Pensions Regulator Andrew Warwick-Thompson as independent trustees.

Cushon is also bringing in Julius Pursaill as an independent adviser to the trustees. Pursaill is a founding trustee of Nest, chairing its risk and investment committee, and chairs Heineken’s governance committee. He also chaired the RBS trustee and the investment committee, one of the biggest DC schemes in the UK. He is currently responsible for investment governance of over £200bn of assets.

The Cushon Master Trust recently changed its name from the Salvus Master Trust following its acquisition by Cushon, then known as Smarterly, in April 2020. Cushon was founded by Ben Pollard and Phil Hollingdale and is chaired by Duncan Howarth the previous CEO of UK Employee Benefits and International Chairman, Employee Benefits at JLT. The managing director is Troy Clutterbuck who previously headed up Now: Pensions.

Cushon Master Trust chair Roger Mattingly says: “We are thrilled to be welcoming two of the best brains in the business to the Trustee board. Their combined experience both individually and collectively will ensure we continue to support the best interests of our members”

Cushon founder & CEO Ben Pollard says: “We’re absolutely delighted that we’ve been able to bring Dianne, Andrew and Julius on board. We’re really raising the bar with the launch of our Net Zero Now pensions proposition, but this is just the beginning. Using our market-leading tech approach there’s lots more to come from Cushon and I’m delighted to have their support as we enter this exciting next phase of growth.”
