State Street Global Advisors is appointing Adam Grainger as chief operating officer of its European Defined Contribution (DC) business.

Based in London, Grainger will report to Nigel Aston, head of European defined contribution.

Grainger will be responsible for client experience and operational oversight and development of the DC business.

Grainger will be also be charged with expanding operations in markets across Ireland and Continental Europe. He has recently worked on client experience for JP Morgan Asset Management and BlackRock.

Aston says: “We want to ensure that we give the very best experience to our clients and partners. We take very seriously the quality of our service delivery, from initial onboarding to business as usual and beyond. Adam’s considerable experience in the institutional and DC space, together with his passion for the client, makes him a fantastic addition to our team.

“This hire and other recent expansion of the team reflects the growing importance of the defined contribution business to State Street Global Advisors. As the business continues to grow, following a spate of client wins, including The People’s Pension, Grainger will have a significant role in ensuring best in class connectivity to platforms, master trusts and pension scheme clients.”
