Mercer has appointed Sylvia Pozezanac as its new UK chief executive. She will replace outgoing chief executive Fiona Dunsire.

Pozezanac, will join the company in May – subject to regulatory approval. She has been appointed to focus on “maximising the potential” of the recent Jardine Lloyd Thomson acquisition. JLT was bought by Marsh & McLennan last year, Mercer’s parent company.

Pozezanac joins from Prudential Financial, where she was senior managing director of its client management business.

Prior to this she worked for Willis Towers Watson for 26 years in a range of senior roles across its retirement and insurance departments. She also led the integration of the Towers Perrin’s and Watson Wyatt’s sales and marketing functions.

Mercer president and chief executive Martine Ferland says: “Given her three decades of experience across across the retirement and insurance sectors, Pozezanac is the ideal person to lead our business in the UK.

“Our UK business and clients will benefit from her experience across mature and emerging businesses, deep subject matter expertise and significant leadership expertise.”

Ferland also praised Dunsire’s track record of growing the business in the UK, launching the Mercer Workplace Savings and her role in developing the company’s digital DC and savings propositions.

Dunsire will remain with Mercer, moving to a growth leader for the company’s ‘growth market’ countries.
