Hymans Robertson has appointed David Walker to the role of chief investment officer.

Walker — who has been with the company for almost 20 years — will take over from the current CIO, Andy Green, who is moving to chair Hymans Robertson’s investment services investment committee.

Walker has previously headed up Hymans Robertson’s LGPS Investment Service. He has also been part of the company’s Research Oversight Group, and has been responsible  for developing the company’s strategic investment services for its public sector clients.

Walker says: “Investment is at the heart of all financial strategy and in this current Covid environment, the expertise and insight we offer will be essential for our clients as they navigate unpredictable, and choppy, economic waters over the next few years.

“As we diversify as a firm into new markets, such as retail investment, I look forward to the challenges and opportunities that will also bring.”

In his new role Green will be particularly looking at the newer areas into which the firm is diversifying, to expand the reach of investment services beyond traditional pensions.
