YuLife has partnered with Sleep Cycle, a sleep tracker application, to improve sleep quality among UK employees.
YuLife says it will leverage Sleep Cycle’s solutions for monitoring and improving sleep health in order to raise the quality of sleep among its policyholders.
According to a survey of five OECD countries, employees lose almost $680bn each year owing to lack of sleep. At the same time, according to a Philips sleep survey from 2020, only 53 per cent of respondents believe they have a clear knowledge of what is genuinely limiting proper sleep. Sleep Cycle says it employs technology to address these important issues and its partnership with YuLife will allow employees at hundreds of UK companies to benefit from its sleep quality expertise.
YuLife says it is creating a new type of group life insurance for businesses by actively decreasing risk for the insurer by promoting and motivating healthy lifestyle changes, which improves the overall welfare of policyholders.
Users of the YuLife app can receive incentives and discounts from major UK companies in exchange for participating in everyday wellness activities like walking, cycling, meditation, and mindfulness. YuLife says its partnership with Sleep Cycle will pave the way for the integration of a sleep component into the YuLife app, allowing YuLife members to receive rewards for bettering their sleep quality.
YuLife CEO and founder Sammy Rubin says: “YuLife’s new partnership with Sleep Cycle reflects our commitment to providing a holistic wellbeing offering to businesses seeking to show care for their employees.
“Evidence increasingly shows how sleep is a vital determinant contributing to people’s sense of physical and mental wellbeing, and those who sleep better are happier and more productive in the workplace. In the era of the ‘Great Resignation’, when employees are increasingly reluctant to stay with employers who don’t help them improve their wellbeing, we are proud to be giving workplaces even more tools to make a tangible difference to employees’ lives.”
Sleep Cycle CEO Carl Johan Hederoth says: “Sleep has an enormous impact on both our mental and physical health as well as our ability to perform well, privately and in our working life.
“As the market leader of sleep tracking worldwide, providing services that improve sleep and convey the benefits of good sleep for better health is part of Sleep Cycle’s DNA. In recent years, we have seen how the focus on sleep and health has steadily increased among employers and organisations, where people have begun to pay attention to the benefits of investing in sleep health. Partnering with YuLife, as their preferred sleep solution, provides new opportunities to cater to even more organisations, allowing sleep to become a priority in nurturing the health of employees.”
