Zedra has launched a new pensions-focused offering called Pensions & Incentives, which will provide governance advice to schemes and trustees.
Zedra, a provider of employee benefits, trustee services, pensions, and related administrative solutions, introduces this solution at a time when the UK pension trustee and governance services industry is going through considerable upheaval and is up against difficulties that will need a large commitment of time and money from long-term investors. In recent years, both the regulatory structure and the difficulty of managing a pension scheme for employers and trustees have grown in complexity.
It is anticipated that the number of pension schemes requiring support will continue to increase in the near future due to significantly increased regulatory and compliance burdens, a focus on end game strategies that benefit from professional trustee knowledge and understanding, and a shortage of available company or member nominated trustees. Zedra says it is enhancing its offerings to satisfy these demands with its new Pensions & Incentives product.
With six locations in London, Reading, Leeds, Birmingham, St. Albans, and Guernsey and a staff of about 80 specialists, Zedra Pensions & Incentives Services has plans to grow its workforce soon through acquisitions in the UK and Europe.
The launch comes in the wake of a number of recent acquisitions in the UK pension services sector, including Inside Pensions, a leading independent provider of occupational pension scheme governance support, and PTL, a leading independent provider of Pension Trustee and Governance services, both of which were acquired in 2021; and most recently, Caledonian Trustees Limited, a specialist provider of professional independent trustee and secretarial services to corporate pension and funeral plans. With the introduction of this new product, PTL Governance Limited has changed its name to Zedra Governance Limited and incorporated the Zedra brand.
Zedra CEO Ivo Hemelraad says: “We are delighted to further expand our service offering by boosting our presence in the UK pension space. The journey started with the acquisition of Interben Trustees Limited in 2019 followed by Inside Pensions, PTL and more recently, Caledonian Trustees, bringing us to a market-leading position for outsourced pension services in the UK pension space. Our dedicated teams with unrivalled expertise allow us to offer even greater services.”
