Sherry, who formed Sherry Associates International when he left politics last year, will be working with TOR on projects related to pension reforms in Europe and Asia.
The pensions and platforms consultancy was keen to add the former senator’s knowledge of auto-enrolment and master trust structures to its own in-house expertise.
Tor managing director David Harris says: “The value of Nick’s experience is that he played a major role in implementing auto-enrolment in Australia and has guided its development over the past 25 years.
“Nick’s insights into key developments and operational aspects of dc systems and Australia’s mature master trust market will be invaluable too as the UK heads along the same path.”
Sherry says: “I’m looking forward to working with Tor and providing assistance based on my knowledge of the reforms and challenges of Australia’s A$1.5 trillion superannuation sector.
“As a regular visitor to the UK over the past 20 years I’ve closely observed developments here and look forward to sharing my experience as auto-enrolment evolves.”
