Independent Women, a group of female financial experts, is expanding its reach to six locations across the country to provide tailored financial advice for women.
The group, which was founded in Edinburgh in 1997 by Lesley Mackintosh, offers wealth and estate planning, tax guidance, cashflow planning, protection, and investment advice. Additionally, it specialises in ethical investing, which has been a strength of theirs since the beginning.
The company works with entrepreneurs and company owners to help them achieve their objectives and offers guidance on exit planning, mergers and acquisitions, corporate philanthropy, and expansion.
Independent Women joined the global audit, tax, and consultancy business Mazars in 2022. It is now expanding its presence in Mazars’ regional offices to reach more women. Mackintosh continues to lead the business while also serving as a Partner at Mazars.
Independent Women founder and Mazars partner and head of client experience and markets Lesley Mackintosh says: “I am incredibly proud to announce the national expansion of Independent Women. Since we started out in 1997 a lot has changed for women’s wealth. Nowadays specialist advice for women is not a luxury, it’s essential. What we often see now are financially savvy women coming to us because they acknowledge the complexity of wealth management and want to work with a safe pair of hands, someone who just gets it.
“Women have a significant opportunity to reshape the future through their financial decisions and the movement of wealth. It is exciting for us at Independent Women to play a part in this and unlock opportunities to enable women to achieve their goals.
“Our role isn’t just about growing wealth. Over the years it has been just as rewarding to see how financial confidence boosts overall wellbeing. I am delighted to enter our next phase of growth and to have the scale to help many more women across the country to achieve their wealth ambitions.”
