Barnett Waddingham has seen strong growth in their investment governance solution for DB schemes, which aims to help trustees and sponsors develop cost effective end game options.
In the two years since launch, the Streamlined Investment Consulting service now has £2.5bn of assets under management.
The service is primarily aimed at trustees and sponsors of smaller schemes, enabling them to access large-scheme innovation and pricing through Legal & General Investment Management’s Investment platform.
Barnett Waddingham says schemes also benefit by using a streamlined implementation model that enables trustees to speed up decision-making, save money and focus on the more important strategic issues such as endgame planning.
Barnett Waddingham partner and head of streamlined IC Jude Bennett says: “We’re delighted with the growth of Streamlined IC, which allows us to bring the quality of advice and ideas we provide for large schemes to the full range of DB schemes. This provides an opportunity for our clients to access our latest thinking, at really strong value for them in terms of overall cost.”
LGIM head of core clients Mark Wybrow adds: “The platform provides both trustees and their advisors with enhanced governance and resilience. Furthermore, the pooling of assets leads to operational efficiencies and overall reduced costs, which is great news for trustees, sponsors and ultimately the schemes’ members.”
