All pension schemes with Aegon’s Master Trust will now have a named trustee assigned to their scheme to offer individual support and guidance.
Aegon says this new ‘Trustee Connect’ service aims to match trustee experience and skills to each scheme, with the nominated trustee focusing particularly on governance issues. This will include attending Governance Committee meetings either in person or virtually, and sharing directly the latest best practice, plans and developments for the Aegon Master Trust.
Alongside regular newsletters and invitations to Aegon Master Trust summits, which take place twice a year, the service will also enable employers to join the Aegon trustee board meetings to allow the trustees to gather and act upon employers’ feedback.
Trustees also benefit from access to the Master Trust Member Panel. This enables members to share real-life experiences, while regular focus groups enable the trustees to stay connected with scheme members and receive direct feedback.
Ian Pittaway, chair of the Aegon Master Trust board says:“We know how complicated it can be for an employer to manage all the different aspects of running a master trust scheme. But they also know their members well and want the best outcomes for them. The Aegon Trustee Connect service supports the lightening of the governance burden but ensures our membership benefit from the depth of knowledge and understanding each employer has of their scheme membership.”
Aegon director, client & partnership development Nick Roy says: “The launch of Trustee Connect represents exactly what the Aegon Master Trust service is here to provide – practical, valuable support. We listened to the feedback from our employers and consultants, and what they wanted most was dedicated help and support from a named trustee.”
