Hymans Robertson has promoted Sachin Patel to be its new head of corporate DB endgame strategy.
The consultancy firm says this role recognises the increasing pressure DB schemes face when planning the final stages of their strategic journey. Patel replaces Leonard Bowman who was recently promoted to head of corporate consulting.
Patel has been at Hymans Robertson since 2014 and qualified as an actuary in 2020. He is a lead consultant in the firm’s Corporate DB team, helping schemes to plan their endgame journey and navigate the complex range of choices they will face at this time.
Commenting on his new role Patel says: “The pensions landscape in which DB schemes now exist has never been so varied, with changes in funding levels, market innovation, and a variety of endgame solutions, creating a vastly different endgame journey to previous years. This means that the need for a well-executed, and clearly defined strategically aligned path, has never been more pertinent for companies.
“With a new government in place, the impact of the Mansion House reforms could open up an array of opportunities for schemes with a variety of new incentives, via major government policy changes.”
Hymans Robertson head of corporate consulting Leonard Bowman adds that the appointment underlines the firms commitment to providing :tailored advice to DB schemes at such a complex and pivotal stage of their endgame journey.
He adds: “[Patel] has an enviable track record of guiding clients through their strategic planning. His commitment to achieving optimal company sponsor and member outcomes made him the clear choice for leading our advisory endgame team.”
