She will take over from current president Mike Sullivan at the PMI’s Annual General Meeting on 7 July 2011.
Andrews was elected to PMI Council in 2001, becoming vice president in 2010, chairing its Membership Committee and acting as a trustee of the Institute’s own pension fund. She is a director of Trustee Solutions– a company providing professional pension trustee services and a pensions partner at Pinsent Masons LLP. She is also a committee member of the Independent Pension Trustee Group.
Andrews says: “I am very pleased to take on the role of PMI President, especially at a time when the pensions industry is facing so many fundamental changes in the run up to 2012. Making adequate provision for retirement has never been more important. My aim will be to ensure that the PMI continues to support and develop those professionals within the industry by establishing, maintaining and improving professional standards across the board”.
