AJ Gallagher has further expanded its UK footprint with the acquisition of employee benefits firm First Actuarial for an undisclosed sum.

First Actuarial offers pension administration, investment services and employee benefits consultancy to both employers and trustees in the UK.

The First Actuarial team, led by David Joy, will remain in place and will now report to David Piltz, who heads up Gallagher’s UK benefits and HR consulting division.

Gallagher chairman and CEO, J Patrick Gallagher says: “First Actuarial is a highly regarded firm that expands our pension service capabilities in the UK and complements our employee benefits consulting operations.”

Arthur J. Gallagher & Co is a US-based global insurance brokerage, risk management and consulting services firm. It has been expanding significantly in the UK market in recent years, having bought investment firm Redington last year.
