WTW has appointed Gareth Strange to head up its outsourcing business in the UK , which includes its pensions administration business.

He will replace Kevin Howard who has led the business for the past eight years. WTW’s GB outsourcing business manages the pension administration for over 3m scheme members.

In this role, Strange will be responsible for shaping WTW’s outsourcing strategy, with a focus on developing new offerings that will help deliver strong outcomes for pension schemes and their members. He will also play a central role in how the business responds to technology-led change, reflecting his digital-first approach to service design and delivery.

Strange has worked at WTW for almost 25 years, in both client delivery and commercial leadership roles. He has built up expertise across pensions, retirement and outsourcing, and the company says has demonstrated his ability to translate market insight into practical solutions for clients and members.

WTW global head of benefits delivery & outsourcing Jane Murray says: “With expertise in GB pensions, decades of experience across retirement and outsourcing, [Strange] will help shape new offerings and unlock opportunities for exceptional client and member outcomes.”

She adds in an era of technology-led solutions and AI innovations, his digital approach will be key.

The appointment takes effect from 1 April 2026.
