Howden has appointed Rob Brown as head of employee benefits for its Howden Markets division.

Brown has almost 25 years’ experience in the sector, and has held a number of senior roles in the industry, most recently at Zurich Insurance Group. Howden says he has a track record for building strong insurer partnerships and delivering complex multinational programmes.

In this new role Brown will lead the development of a clear, scalable market proposition, bringing greater consistency and negotiation strength across global, regional and local markets, and supporting Howden’s T20 strategy.

Brown will use his experience to develop Howden’s global financing and captive programme for employee benefits — helping clients access more coordinated, effective structures, particularly those headquartered in the US with international programmes.

Howden says this appointment strengthens its ability to place and negotiate employee benefits programmes globally, while building good relationships with insurers across the group.

Brown will report jointly to Toby Pollard, managing director and head of Howden Markets, and Glenn Thomas, CEO and global practice leader, health & employee benefits.
