Aon has named Matthew Nelson as principal client director within its online benefits team.

Nelson joins Aon from Gallagher, where he led the delivery consulting function for its benefits technology business, with responsibility for platform implementation and adoption, client retention and revenue growth.

He brings over 10 years’ experience across benefits, HR and Reward Technology, spanning SaaS implementation, client delivery, stakeholder management and operations.

He will lead the employee experience relationship for a portfolio of selected clients, with responsibility for embedding best practice, maximising client engagement and experience and introducing new solution lines across Aon’s market-leading benefits technology and digital engagement capabilities.

Aon head of online Guy Clarkson says: “Matthew brings more than a decade of specialist experience in benefits, HR and Reward Technology, along with a strong track record of leading complex implementations and delivering long-term value for clients. As organisations increasingly look to harness technology to drive digital engagement with benefits and support the health and wellbeing of their people, this expertise is more important than ever.

“Matthew’s leadership and client focus will further strengthen our online benefits capability, and I am sure he will make a great impact.”
