ADVO Group is buying HR consultancy HR Experts Limited (HRE), which was previously part of Broker Direct PLC, for an undisclosed sum.

ADVO says the acquisition is part of its strategy to extend beyond employee benefits consulting into online technology systems for payroll, benefit management and communication.

HRE offers SMEs a service that replicates in-house HR team to ensure compliance with legislation while supporting and advising to ensure best employment practice. HRE will continue to provide specialist HR advice and support while working to bring its existing clients access to ADVO’s technology to allow wider access to HR services and to enhance the current proposition.

ADVO CEO Larry Bulmer says: “The addition of HR Experts into our group allows us to complete our vision of delivering individual specialism while linking wider HR, employer benefits, payroll and support to those clients that need more.”

ADVO operations director Gill Mateo says: “It is our aim to bring together finance, staff benefits and HR under one technology system allowing full reporting, management and staff communication with essential business and staff services linked and supported by expert advisors.”

HR Experts’ Carly Gregory says: “There is a synergy of clients and culture between ADVO and HRE that makes this a great match. ADVO’s experience of online technology will allow us to deliver more enhanced services for our clients.”
