Aegon UK has appointed Nick Blake to its board as a non-executive director, effective immediately.
Blake takes over from David Dalton Brown, who leaves the Aegon UK Board after nine years. He will report to Aegon UK Board chair Christina McComb, OBE.
He has been in the financial services industry for more than 35 years, having worked for Standard Life for more than 20 years and Vanguard Asset Management Europe for more than 10 years, where he was a member of the original management team.
He has held positions in asset management and pensions, having served on boards and committees.
McComb says: “I am delighted to welcome Nick to the Board. His skills and experience, with a keen focus on customer experience, will provide a strong complement to the Board line up. My colleagues and I look forward to working with Nick as we support the business through transformation and growth, building on the ambitious three-year strategy announced in June.
“I would also like to take this opportunity to thank David for his exceptional contribution to the business. We wish him well for the future.”
Blake says: “I am very much looking forward to working with Christina and the rest of the UK Board. This is a time of great opportunity and challenge both within the industry and for Aegon UK, and I am keen to use my industry knowledge and experience to help Aegon achieve the best outcomes for its customers.”
