Aon has appointed Ben Roe to be its global defined contribution (DC) wealth strategy leader within its wealth solutions division.

Roe is a senior partner and currently head of UK DC consulting at Aon. In this new role Roe will focus on ensuring clients benefit from knowledge and solutions developed in established DC markets — notably Australia, the UK and the US.

He will also be responsible for identifying growth opportunities in markets where DC pensions are currently less used. Based in London, Ben will report to Michael Clare, head of wealth solutions for EMEA at Aon.

Clare says: “Roe will work with other EMEA and global leaders to drive growth and provide new solutions for our clients – and, most importantly, their members. The DC market is an important area for Aon and one in which we are committed to investing in new solutions and advisory capability. This will require continuing innovation, strategic planning and implementation.”

Roe adds: “The question of how people save for their retirements is one that crosses all borders. While DC pensions in varying forms are becoming the most prevalent form of pension saving in several markets, there is great potential for their wider adoption in countries across EMEA and other regions.

“Globally we face a sizeable and growing retirement savings gap, but at Aon we are committed to enabling our clients to help their members have a better retirement.”
