Aviva has appointed Steve Bridger to the role of chief claims officer for UK and Ireland general insurance — to replace Waseem Malik who has left the company.
Bridger has been managing director for health for Aviva for the past five years, having worked across the health and protection industry for the past three decades — the majority with Aviva. During this period he has been managing director for group protection at Aviva as well as its head of group risk.
Aviva has appointed Matt McGill as its new managing director of health. McGill is also a long-standing Aviva employee, having worked for the insurer for 28 years. Most recently he has been the CEO of the equity release business. He has also been the director of product and investment propositions for Aviva Workplace Savings and Retirement.
McGill also holds non-executive director roles with Sesame Bankroll Group and Criterion.
Both appointments are subject to regulatory approval but are made with immediate effect.
