Aviva Investors has appointed Anna Chong as a sector lead and Michalis Ditsas as a senior investment director to the firm’s Global Fixed Income team.

Chong will report to head of fixed income research Gita Bal, and lead the Resources, Industrials & Infrastructure hub, while managing Aviva Investors’ Fixed Income Early Careers programme. She joins from Federated Hermes, where she was head of corporate credit research and previously worked at J.P. Morgan.

She will be one of four sector leads in Aviva Investors’ restructured Fixed Income research team. The changes, led by Fraser Lundie and Gita Bal, aim to create a more collaborative, globally connected research culture and improve investment insights through greater use of technology.

Ditsas will report to Shane O’Brien, Head of Investment Specialists. He has more than 20 years of experience in fixed income, including roles at J.P. Morgan, Alliance Bernstein, and Federated Hermes.

These appointments follow other recent strategic hires, including Gita Bal, Fabrice Pellous, and Roland Derks.

Aviva Investors global head of fixed income Fraser Lundie says: “We’re thrilled to welcome Anna and Michalis to the team. I can confidently say they bring a wealth of expertise and insight that will be invaluable to our existing fixed income business.

“Their appointments mark another important step in our journey this year, as we continue to strengthen our capabilities with high-calibre talent. We’ve already seen the positive impact of recent additions, and I have no doubt Anna and Michalis will contribute meaningfully from day one.”
