Aviva joins The Group for Autism, Insurance, Investment and Neurodiversity as an ‘Industry Transformer’ member.
Aviva has pledged to engage, inform, and support neurodivergent people so they may succeed in the workplace by partnering with GAIN. According to Aviva, its three guiding principles —care, confidence, and community—recognise the dedication to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace and the advantages of working in partnership with both customers and workers.
Aviva will lead in promoting neuro-inclusion in the insurance, investment, and financial services sectors. By recognising neurodiversity as a crucial component of achieving environmental, social, and governance (ESG), corporate social responsibility (CSR), and broader diversity goals, Aviva will work to put neurodiversity in the same focus as other, equally significant but currently more recognised forms of diversity and inclusion.
GAIN co-chair Barbara Schonhofer says: “There has never been a better time to be more informed about neurodiversity and the huge value to business of recognising and welcoming different ways of thinking and operating. By embracing difference, we better reflect customers and the broader society we serve. We recognise the significance of Aviva signing up as an ‘Industry Transformer’ in the GAIN journey to help welcome those of us who are neurodivergent.”
Aviva MD personal Lines Owen Morris says: “It’s a huge positive for Aviva to join GAIN. The UK insurance industry can be a wonderful place for talented neurodivergent individuals to work, with so many problems to solve and different ways to think – all bringing benefit to our customers. So, investing in neurodivergent individuals will really benefit our people, our customers and our business.”
