Aviva has launched a new smartphone health app, designed to help employers offer greater support to employees during the current crisis.
The DigiCare+ Workplace app is available to employees with group protection cover, and offers a new range of clinical health benefits.
These are split into key services: an annual health check, a digital GP, mental health consultations, second medical options, and nutritional consultation.
Aviva says this suite of benefits has been selected to complement its existing benefits for group protection and is available to both larger corporates and SMEs.
It says that it hopes the easy-to-use functionality will encourage greater engagement with workplace benefits, helping employees understand and manage their own health risks, while offering a convenient route to access clinical care.
All services offered through the app are connected, allowing specialists to signpost employees to other medical expertise. This bespoke app, which has been designed in conjunction with Square Health, also links to information about NHS services and discounted gym membership.
Aviva managing director of group protection Kathryn Stringer says: “We all understand that looking after a buisness means looking after the people who make the business work. Now more than ever employers are looking to enhance the health and wellbeing benefits they offer to help keep their workforce healthy, reduce sickness absence, and help attract and retain the right people.”
She highlighted both the potential business benefits, as well as the benefits offered to employees. saying the app helps support a wellbeing agenda and help businesses stand out from competitors when it comes to hiring talent.
Stringer adds that this powerful and connected app has been designed after consultation with clients and advisers to help employees detect, manage and prevent ill health.
“We see this as a major enhancement to the already comprehensive protection that we offer our corporate and SME clients to look after their most valuable asset.”
