Kataora, who became an associate in 2016, will be responsible for leading the provision of investment advice to DC clients.
The appointment follows the promotion of Alex Pocock to the role of head of investment at the beginning of March.
She is already heavily involved in conducting DC investment strategy research and development within Barnett Waddingham, aimed at improving standards of DC governance, encouraging member engagement and designing robust investment solutions seeking to maximise member outcomes at retirement.
Kataora says: “Designing appropriate investment strategies is more important than ever as DC schemes will increasingly serve as later life savings vehicles. In leading our strategic response to the DC challenges, I look forward to continuing to work with trustees and scheme managers to navigate the best way forward.”
Pocock says: “This is an exciting time for our DC Investment team, with continued new business success. Sonia is the ideal person to drive the team forward as she has a wealth of experience from working with some of the most forward-thinking DC schemes in the UK.”
