Barnett Waddingham has appointed Lucy Cresswell to the role of head of pensions governance and secretariat.
Cresswell joined in 2019 and brings 25 years of experience working with a variety of pension clients across the full spectrum of governance, executive and secretariat services, ranging from medium-sized schemes up to those with 100,000 members. She has extensive experience helping boards operate effectively in a complex financial and regulatory environment, advising on trustee effectiveness, cyber risk and governance frameworks.
Cresswell will help develop and deliver BW’s governance consulting services to pension schemes as the Pensions Regulator and DWP focus more on trusteeship, governance and administration.
Barnett Waddingham partner and head of board management services Paul Jayson says: “We first launched our non-pension governance and secretariat business within Barnett Waddingham by leveraging the fantastic capabilities of our pension team.
“Now this has established itself in the market under the leadership of Inderpreet Bedi, we want to make sure that our pension business continues to be dedicated and market leading, to protect the futures of scheme members through independent and creative solutions.
“I can think of no-one better to take on this role than Lucy, whose passion for good governance and customer service is unsurpassed.”
Cresswell says: “I am truly excited to continue the growth and development of our market leading Pensions Governance and Secretariat services, with the wider support of Howden.
“Good governance is critical to successful outcomes for pension scheme members and my focus will be on continuing to develop our market leading consulting services, incorporating technology such as BW CORE© and BoardClic.
“We have a fantastic team who are passionate about building strong relationships with clients and I will continue to drive forward our innovative client focused approach.”
