Benefits firm gets ESG accreditation

Verlingue, a chartered insurance broker, has received bronze accreditation from independent assessor EcoVadis for its ESG strategy.

Verlingue director of operations Andrew Sugden is in charge of the ESG project, while director of risk management Gayle Bennouir is in charge of the accreditation campaign.

The benchmarking procedure will also be carried out once again the following year as part of a continuous improvement approach. External parties can examine the materials and rules that make up the ESG ranking online, such as those looking to see if Verlingue’s ESG credentials align with their own sustainable procurement policy.

The broker’s parent firm in France has also been evaluated by EcoVadis.

Verlingue Group CEO Mike Latham says: “Even before the ESG term was coined, our business was already well on the road to embrace the values it enshrines; values that resonate with those of our family-owned group, which is now in its fourth generation.

“Validation from a respected third party is not however the end of the journey – and we are keen to constantly improve and investigate how we can ensure the business delivers on the E, the S, and the G in equal measure.”
