James Biggs has been promoted to the new role of head of corporate pensions workplace savings at Lorica Employee Benefits.

Sean Gilfeather, who continues running the company’s growing actuarial and risk management division, becomes head of corporate pensions actuarial, following the restructure. Biggs was formerly with Jelf Employee Benefits where he headed up the DC pensions team in Reading, providing corporate retirement savings solutions across the Thames Valley and into London.

Gilfeather is a qualified actuary with 15 years diverse experience in pensions and employee benefits, including Towers Watson, PwC, Buck Consultants and Aegon.

Rhys Francis, director of Lorica, says: “Many have experienced the enormous energy, enthusiasm and competence of James. It is time to fully recognise this by enabling him to drive forward the DC side of the corporate pension proposition and continue to build on the fantastic rapport that he has developed with all of his colleagues.

“Sean continues to build the Actuarial and Risk Management division which he has created from scratch in February 2010. In that time, the business has grown significantly. It is hugely satisfying to see our pension team strengthen so immeasurably”
