Broadstone Group has expanded further into the employee benefit consultancy sector, with the acquisition of Liverpool-based CS Financial Solutions.

CS Financial Solutions (CSFS), which includes CS Trustees, will become  fully integrated within the Broadstone Group. It will help serve the company’s client base, both in the UK and through its Assurex Global network.

This latest purchase follows Broadstone’s recent acquisitions of Mitchell Consulting and 2020 Trustees.

Broadstone confirmed it would continue to expand its business in 2019, both through organic growth and further M&A activity.

Broadstone Group’s chief executive, Grant Stobart says this latest purchase would add geographic reach and scale to its proposition.

He adds that in a competitive market, that has undergone considerable consolidation, this deal underlines Broadstone’s intent to support both its larger clients, and the UK-wide SME sector, which is often poorly serviced by the larger consultancies.

This deal brings the number of Broadstone regional UK offices to six with other locations in London, Manchester, Sheffield, Nottingham and Falkirk.

Stobart adds: “This is an exciting acquisition for us and brings additional capabilities and experienced staff and scale, that will help ensure we remain competitive in the provision of innovative employee benefits solutions.”

Broadstone says an “active acquisitions strategy” is been fully supported by its equity partners Livingbridge.

CSFS chief executive Paul McGuckin adds: “Being an integral part of a larger, organisation with ambitious growth plans and the resources to deliver will mean that we can continue to offer our clients the very best product solutions and service.

“For our staff it means that they can benefit from the significant career and development opportunities.”
