Pension consultancy Buck has bought the specialist communications firm Concert Consulting.
The firm, which will now be known as Concert, is based in Bristol and specialises in developing communication strategies for both print and digital media in the pensions and employee benefits sector. This involves employee research, copywriting and graphic design to help employers and trustees engage with employees and members.
Buck says this acquisition will enable it to develop and implement tailored engagement strategies for both UK and multinational clients, who will benefit from personalised communications.
Buck managing director David Piltz says: “Effectively engaging employees and plan members is a growing priority for the pensions and employee benefits industry.”
Peter Walsh who founded Concert in 2004 will continue to lead the business, supporting clients as they transition to Buck.
He says: “We’ve developed outstanding relationships with our clients.” He adds that he looks forward to introducing the company’s “results-orientated thinking” to a broader set of Buck clients.
Buck chief executive Jack Freker says: “We’re taking deliberate steps as an organisation to expand our capabilities so that we can continue to help clients deliver on the social contract with their employees and members.”
He says Buck remains committed to making further acquisitions in the UK in the areas of pensions, investments, employee benefits, and engagement. The acquisition of Concert will complement the firm’s engagement capabilities in North America.
