Nest says Budgen’s role will involve helping professional intermediaries understand its proposition. At HSBC Workplace Retirement Services he was responsible for delivery of the HSBC DC proposition into the corporate IFA and EBC market.
Budgen joined HSBC from Aviva following a career he began at Aegon Scottish Equitable. He is also a member of the Chartered Insurance Institute.
His appointment follows that of former Scottish Widows John Taylor, who joined Nest as managing director, customer and proposition in March. Taylor has taken the role vacated by Helen Dean, who has moved to become Nest’s managing director, product and operations.
Budgen says: “I am excited to be joining Nest at this important time in the development of the UK Pension market. As employers auto enrol their employees into a workplace pension scheme, some for the first time, the opportunity to be in the front-line was too good to miss.”
