Bupa has signed a new four-year agreement with private cancer care provider GenesisCare, extending their partnership until August 2027.
The renewed partnership aims to improve systemic therapy and radiotherapy services for Bupa’s UK health insurance clients, with a focus on growing the network of Bupa Cancer Specialist Centres.
This partnership expands on Bupa’s current Specialist Centres, which since their opening in 2019 have greatly accelerated the diagnosis and treatment of prostate, bowel, and breast cancer.
Furthermore, GenesisCare and Bupa have pledged to cut their carbon emissions in line with goals to reach net zero emissions by 2040.
GenesisCare CEO for UK and Europe Justin Hely says: “We’re proud of our partnership with Bupa and look forward to further building on our key strategic priorities over the next four years. This includes our commitment to working together on expanding much-needed patient access to our specialist cancer care network, where we lead the way in delivering expert, personalised care and speed of access to tests, technology and treatment to aid quicker patient recovery and help save lives.”
Bupa UK Insurance CEO Alex Perry says: “We’re delighted to extend our partnership with GenesisCare to deliver fast access to cancer care for our customers. Cancer cases are on in the rise in the UK – it’s estimated that by 2030, around 4 million people will be living with the disease. It’s vital that we continue innovating with our hospital partners to deliver life-changing improvements in cancer care through the further development of our Specialist Centres network.”
