Canada Life is offering Toothfairy® to all Group Life, Group Income Protection and Group Critical Illness customers.

The app was developed by two renowned dentists in the field and uses patent-pending technology to address a variety of concerns, including dental care accessibility, availability, and price.

Employees will have unlimited access to a robust chat option that is available on all Canada Life Group Protection products 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, connecting them directly to a dentist and pointing them towards clinical recommendations.

Additionally, customers will be able to receive virtual evaluations, counseling, and any prescriptions they require for urgent situations and routine checks, as well as a 10 per cent discount on aesthetic dentistry procedures like teeth whitening and straightening.

Canada Life protection sales director Dan Crook says: “I’m really pleased that Canada Life are partnering with Toothfairy and bringing a unique dentistry solution to all our customers. At Canada Life we strive to ensure the support services we offer are of high impact, relevant and meet the needs of our employer customers and their employees.

“Access to dental care was strained during the pandemic with many people unable to receive the care that they needed. The innovative technology that Toothfairy offers delivers practical and useful solutions to everyday dental issues, that will in no doubt decrease the estimated one million days4 missed off work each year for dentistry related appointments.

“At Canada Life we are always working hard to bring employers products and services which help to reduce absenteeism and presenteeism in the workplace. Building upon the success of WeCare, and the recent addition of myStrength, we believe that Toothfairy significantly enhances our overall proposition and is a unique differentiator in our marketplace.”

Toothfairy® co-founder Dr Deepak Aulak says: “Toothfairy was founded to help patients overcome the numerous barriers of access to dental care. We are pleased to be working with Canada Life, a forward-thinking insurer with a deep care for its members. Through this partnership, we are bringing together our patent-pending health-regulated technology, with an insurer who wants to make a positive impact on its members’ lives.

“We are happy to offer our dentists on demand, especially with the deepening dental crisis and millions without dental access. At a time when we are seeing the rising cost of living crisis, this partnership will equip members with life-long skills and pick out dental diseases earlier before they become expensive, irreversible, and life-changing chronic issues.

“Over the last year, around six million adults5 in the UK have had long-lasting pain (over two weeks) caused by toothache. This partnership exists to make sure people no longer have to suffer from dental issues.”
