CIPP appoints three new board directors

The Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals (CIPP) has appointed Ana Laiu, Brian Sparling and Lara Smart to its board of directors.

Laiu is a strategic payroll leader with extensive experience having begun as a tutor at CIPP in 2018. She has held several senior roles in her career and has worked with PPHE Group since 2015, where she is currently the director of pay and reward.

Sparling has provided payroll and system solutions for several well-known companies including TSB Bank, JD Wetherspoon, and BSkyB. He is currently payroll services & compliance principal at Dayforce and has held several positions at Ceridian prior to that, most recently as director of managed services.

Smart offers consulting services and works with clients in all business sectors, providing them with payroll insight. She has been in the field for more than 15 years, holding positions in global payroll for Endeavour and Just Eat. She has also been a CIPP member for more than ten years.

CIPP chief executive officer Jason Davenport says: “Having three new members elected to the CIPP board represents a shift in the way we want to work as a business – a shift for the better. With only ten members sitting on our board of directors, introducing three new faces will be a big change, and one we’re looking forward to implementing.

“Ana, Brian, and Lara all bring unique skill sets, perspectives and experiences that will be hugely valuable in guiding the future of the CIPP and helping best serve the needs of our members. We’re excited to officially welcome them and work together to make a positive impact for the industry.”
