Corporate Adviser Awards: hallmark of adviser success and platform for future growth

This year’s Corporate Adviser Awards looks set to be another prestigious event, showcasing innovation across the industry and celebrating talent in the advisory community.

Award winners from last year’s event said that the recognition from industry peers has provided a real boost to their business, giving them a platform for future growth.

Judges commented that in recent years the standard of applications has continue to improve, with a win or commendation in any of the adviser or provider categories now seen as a real hallmark of success. Premier head of risk and healthcare, Allyson Gayle, one of last year’s judges, said these awards reflect what has been going on in the industry over the past few years, showing how the industry has changed and evolved to meet the challenges of Covid and a cost-of-living crisis —and how advisors have really delivered for their clients.

Previous winners commented on what a privilege it is to receive one of these awards. Zurich head of market management (corporate risk), Nick Homer said picking up the award for best group risk provider last year “was a real thrill”. He adds: “This was recognition of the hard work that the team has being doing for a long time.”

His comments were echoed by Aegon’s managing director, workplace investing, Linda Whorlow, who said their award — for best group pensions provider — reflected the passion felt by the team when it came to delivering better outcomes for members. “Winning the award was a great result. We could not be happier.”

The event, held in London at the end of June, is a fantastic networking opportunity, giving advisers the opportunity to  meet up and socialise with colleagues from across the industry. WPA’s sales and marketing director Mark Southern says the evening is always a lot of fun, particularly after another busy year. The awards are a real badge of achievement, he says, and deserved recognition for all the hard work put in over the previous 12 months.

Aon’s head of DC Martin Parish said the awards were a great opportunity, particularly for younger advisers and consultants, giving them the chance to meet with providers and judges, as well as their peers working for different businesses. “It can really give them a sense of what this industry is all about,” he says and the excellent levels of services it continues to deliver.

The deadline is approaching for advisers looking to enter this year’s Corporate Adviser Awards. Entries can be completed on the dedicated awards website.
