Dalriada expands footprint in Scotland with senior trustee appointment

Dalriada Trustees has further expanded its team by appointing Barbara Fewkes as a professional trustee.

Fewkes previously worked as a partner and scheme actuary at Barnett Waddingham. She has joined Dalriada’s Glasgow office and will help grow the firm’s presence in Scotland.

She has extensive experience advising trustees on a range of issues, including risk management, scheme governance, scheme funding, and assisting in negotiations with employers. Fewkes has regularly supported trustees through the buy-in/buy-out and winding-up process.

She has also advised sponsoring employers on a number of pension-related matters, from scheme closures and mergers to accounting disclosures.

In total Fewkes has more than 20 years of experience as a certified scheme actuary and pension professional. She is a fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries and a member of the Law Society of Scotland’s Pensions Sub-Committee.

Dalriada now employs over 50 professional trustees, overseeing more than 350 pension schemes across the UK.

Dalriada managing director Chris Roberts says: “The needs of our clients are currently evolving at pace, and [Fewkes’s] broad-based scheme governance expertise, as well as her significant experience advising trustee boards and sponsoring employers, will make her invaluable to our team.”
