Damian Green, the former immigration minister and the MP for Ashford, has replaced Stephen Crabb as secretary of state for work and pensions.
Green is a former business journalist who has worked at the BBC, Times and Channel 4. Prior to being immigration minister he was minister for policing, criminal justice and victims.
Green was a key figure in Prime Minister Theresa May’s campaign team and had been widely tipped to get a promotion following her victory. He is 60 years old and has been an MP since 1997.
