Data shows most Googled pension questions

‘Are pensions taxable’ is the most common question people ask about pensions on Google, according to recent search data.  This question was the subject of 5,760 searches during the last year.

By analysing Google search data, a claims management firm has listed the pension questions people most commonly search for more information on in the UK.

After questions about tax, the next most searched for issue was ‘Are pension worth it?’ A total of 3,840 people searched for this information last year. ‘Can I inherit my husband’s pensions’ was the next most searched for term, cited 2,620 times.

However many people were also looking for information on how to cash in their pension. The question ‘Pensions: can you cash them?’  was searched for 2040 times, while ‘Can pensions be cashed in’ was searched for 1,320 times. Together this makes this issue a more popular search than inheritance issues.

Other common searches included: ‘Are private pensions safe?’ asked by 1,680 Google-users; ‘Pensions: where to start?’ (asked 840 times) and ‘how pensions are split in divorce’  (again asked 840 times).
