First Actuarial has appointed David Parfett and Lee French to be co-heads of its defined contribution business.
French joins First Actuarial from a directorial role at Corinthian Benefits, where he was responsible for client relationships. Prior to this has has worked at JLT and Alexander Forbes.
Parfett has been working as a DC consultant with First Actuarial over the past year – but has previously worked at Mercer, Aon and Willis Towers Watson.
The company said that these appointments should give strategic direction to the firms’ growing DC team, as defined contribution pension continue to become a more significant part of the pensions landscape.
French says the two dovetail well in terms of professional experience. “I bring broad experience of the employee benefits industry and Parfett brings in-depth DC pensions expertise.”
Parfett adds: “As co-heads of defined contribution, [French] and I will now put together a strategy for sustainable long-term growth. But we don’t want to dictate the direction we take, we want to engage and involve the team at every stage.”
French adds: “Two heads are better than one – especially given the scale of growth we’re determined to deliver.”
