Foresters Friendly Society has joined the trade body Group Risk Development (Grid).
Foresters, which was established 1834, is a group risk business that specialises in insuring police federations. It providers life insurance, critical illness and personal accident cover to over 100,000 individuals through its group schemes.
Foresters Friendly Society, head of insurance operations, Grant Streader, says the business was looking to expand. Streader pointed out the company now underwrites over 50 schemes across the UK, with 30 being for police federations. He says: “We are looking to expand this area of the business and also to move into new markets. Membership of Grid will help us to achieve this in terms of the contacts, openings and opportunities it can provide.”
Grid chair Paul White adds: “The sharing of information is a great advantage for organisations within Gridand we are delighted to welcome Foresters into the fold. It is great to have their specialist knowledge within the membership, and likewise.”
