Former Hargreaves Lansdown CEO joins Quilter

The former CEO of Hargreaves Lansdown, Chris Hill, will join Quilter in March as a non-executive director.

The appointment was made via a stock exchange announcement. In his new role at Quilter, Hill will sit on the board’s audit and its renumeration committees.

Hill left Hargreaves Lansdown last year, after six years as chief executive. He joined the Hargreaves Lansdown  in 2016 and prior to taking on the top role was the company’s chief financial officer.

Hill has also worked as CFO for the online trading platform IG Group and the currency and payments business Travelex.

Hill is a well known figure within the financial services industry and currently also sits on the FCA practitioner panel and has also been a board member of the Investment Association.

In the stock market announcement Quilter chair Ruth Markland welcomed Hill saying the company would benefit from his “deep knowledge of the wealth management industry and experience as a financial services CEO and CFO”.

Quilter also announced that two board members Tazim Essani and Paul Matthews will step down as independent non-executive directors in May, after the company’s AGM.
