Healix offers employers new ‘Netflix for wellbeing’ platform

Healix has partnered with Champion Health to provide a new platform for employers, that it is describing as a ‘Netflix for wellbeing’ .

This platform assesses employees’ individual health needs and personalises this experience using algorithms, to signpost them to relevant wellbeing content and services offered by Healix Health.

Champion Health’s platform covers a range of wellbeing issues, including neurodiversity, sleep, mindfulness, financial wellbeing, musculoskeletal pain, workouts, mental health, and parenting. It also integrates an organisation’s existing wellbeing solutions and NHS services so people can access all healthcare services on one platform.

Healix Health says it hopes the new service will help employers address record levels of sickness in the workplace. Recent ONS figures show the UK lost a record number of working days to sickness in 2022, with long-term-sickness also increasing to a record high in the last quarter.

As part of this service Champion Health will provides employers with anonymous, aggregated data on employees’ wellbeing which is then used to alert the company to issues such as increases in stress or musculoskeletal issues broken down by departments, demographics and locations. This allows organisations to tackle problems ahead of them becoming an absence issue.

Champion Health’s recent research has showed that 76 per cent of professionals are experiencing moderate to high levels of stress – an increase of 13 per cent compared with a year ago. According to the World Health Organisation, this can lead to a range of physical conditions including musculoskeletal pain and sleep problems.

The platform will also ensure there are ‘emergency’ signposts to relevant care providers if employees are answering questions in a ‘concerning way’ or facing crisis.

Healix Health CEO Ian Talbot says: “Supporting employees with their physical and mental wellbeing before it hits crisis point is crucial. Unlike reactive corporate healthcare benefits which provide solutions for when people are already unwell, the platform provided through Champion Health will ensure employees have access to the appropriate care before it escalates.

“This is both vital for employers who cannot afford to lose employees to absences, and employees which are facing record NHS waiting lists and are unable to easily access appropriate care.”

Champion Health chief growth officer Nick McClelland adds: “The partnership with Healix provides Champion Health with a well-respected platform to deliver our health and wellbeing services and impact more lives.

“People have a wide variety of different health and wellbeing needs; it’s not a one size fits all approach. Champion Health empowers people to better understand how to address their individual healthcare needs through an interactive, data-driven platform.

“We believe that this approach provides a long-term and strategic solution to employers looking to both support their people and drive business performance.”
