Health and wellbeing services provider, healthcare rm has partnered with Muhdo to launch a new genetic screening programme, aimed at helping people reduce the risk of disease and improve their quality of life.
This Viva programmes uses DNA and epigenetic technology from Muhdo and combines this with behavioural coaching from healthcare rm’s team of nutritionists, fitness specialists and mental health and CBT therapists.
Epigenetics is the science of how an individual’s genetic code, or genome, expresses itself and is influenced by lifestyle choices or health behaviours. For example an individual might have a pre-disposition to high blood pressure, but this can be reduce by diet changes.
As a result Viva is designed to deliver an highly personalised programme, giving individuals a better understanding of their ‘inner health’ and make appropriate changes to improve their overall health and wellbeing.
This testing is down via a simple saliva test, which provides a range of health-related metrics, including biological age, or cellular age — giving insight into the ageing process.
The tests produce a comprehensive report, which is delivered via an app and provides information on genetic health risks, plus advice and guidance on relevant lifestyle changes.
There is additional support provided, via healthcare rm, for those who need help in making these changes. The programme is available to insurers and employers.
