James Fouracre has been appointed head of distribution for the HSBC Master Trust.

The master trust, which was authorised in 2019, is offered by HSBC Retirement Services Limited (HRSL), part of HSBC Life, the group’s insurance business.

Fouracre will be based in London and report to Alison Hatcher, CEO, HRSL. He moves to the newly created role on secondment having held a range of senior distribution and strategy roles at HSBC across the wholesale and institutional asset management businesses at a regional and global level after joining the group in 2014.

He will be responsible for HSBC Master Trust’s business development requirements, supporting the firm’s commercial strategy and managing the sales process through to completion. This follows the appointment of Paul McBride as Chief Operating Officer in April this year.

Hatcher says: “The master trust team is continuing to expand to support our growth and James’s appointment is another major step forward. His wealth of experience in distribution will be important to its ongoing development and building a business development strategy that will best support the needs of employers, trustees and scheme members.”

Fouracre says: “The HSBC Master Trust brand is growing at pace and fast becoming a well-recognised name within the sector. It’s exciting to be working with a team that is passionate and focused on delivering products and services that will make a real difference to our stakeholders.”
